Riffing on Oregon Riesling

rmsniffingIf “sweet” is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Riesling wine, it’s time you tried some of the sophisticated new Willamette Valley Rieslings. That’s what the winerati have been doing while here for the International Pinot Noir Celebration. So why are they talking about Riesling at a Pinot noir celebration? Check it out and see for yourself.

Enobytes had a rare opportunity to savor 24 samples at Dundee Bistro. Fortunately, for the rest of us, Pamela Heiligenthal shares her tasting notes. Meanwhile, Vinography was in nearby McMinnville sipping 30 Rieslings at Nick’s Italian Cafe. Alder documented the tasting for us, as well.

At price points below its better-known cousin, Oregon Riesling is well worth considering during your next visit to Oregon Wine Country.
