The Bloggers Step Out

Last Friday, we visited some new favorites in the Willamette Valley.  Thanks to everyone that tweeted ideas for new places to visit.  We had a lovely day!  We started with lunch at The Allison Inn and Spa and enjoyed Ken Wright Chardonnay. Then, we drove a short ways up the hill to Vidon (pronounced vee-dohn), French for owners Vicki and Don.  The view from the top of their hill is gorgeous!  We met Don and tasted some delicious Pinots while looking out over the valley.  After that, we drove to the Vista Hills Treehouse tasting room.  Nestled in the Dundee hills, Vista Hills Treehouse is a great spot for events or parties.  We sampled tasty Pinots and learned about their charitable organization, The Clint Foundation from Martha Karson. 10% of all wine profits at Vista Hills go to providing grants to working students.  Needless to say, we brought home a few bottles from both wineries in the trunk to share with friends.

What new wineries have you discovered recently?

Glad you made it out to Vidon and Vista Hills; they are real treasures. With the addition of lunch at the Allison, it sounds like a completely beautiful day. Other greats in the area not to miss: Lenne De Ponte, White Rose.
