Plan a Trip Events Experiences Visit a Winery Media
Oregon’s Willamette Valley can be described in one word: charming.  The area nestled between Oregon’s Coast and Cascade Ranges, known as Oregon Wine Country, offers countless ways to enchant a loved one or treat yourself, when the winter blahs have set in and spring seems eons away.

While some parts of the U.S. are blasted with arctic winds, and others see such minor fluctuations in weather and temperature that it’s hard to tell the seasons have actually changed, the Willamette Valley typically enjoys temperate winter weather, making it a great time for couples to plan a weekend getaway to relax, rejuvenate and romance in Oregon Wine Country.  The holiday season brings numerous festive events, tax-free shopping and lighted, scenic delights, and Valentine's Day is an especially perfect time to indulge in a romantic retreat. Many of the hotels, inns, and B&Bs within the Willamette Valley recognize this, and offer packages with couples in mind.  In addition, each region has specially designed activities, attractions and events for couples to enjoy.

Mt. Hood Territory (Molalla Area)
Rich in history and agriculture, the Willamette Valley’s Mt. Hood Territory features a mix of small communities known for their historic buildings and antique shops as well as a rural landscape filled with Christmas tree farms, hazelnut orchards and pumpkin patches as well as several wineries. The area’s old-country charm serves as a reminder of the way things used to be, and encourages people to slow-down and take a deep breath.

There are a number of lodging and experience packages to choose from in the Mt. Hood Territory, such as The Prairie House Inn and Mulino House in Molalla, which can include day spa visits.  Visitors can enjoy the relaxing country setting in historic downtown Molalla, touring the surrounding countryside following the Feast for the Senses Driving Tour and then getting pampered with a Swedish massage at the J & S Center for Wellness.  Head to nearby Canby for more charming shops, to Woodburn for tax free shopping at the upscale Woodburn Company Stores outlet mall, or journey north to Lake Oswego for boutique shopping and a scenic ride along the river aboard the Willamette Shore Trolley.
