Drive, bike or walk through a collection of Oregon’s charming
covered bridges. Wander through the rural paths of Linn County,
passing family farms, small towns and five covered bridges. Be sure
to pack a lunch and stop at the park by Larwood Bridge for
a little R&R. Bring your bathing suit and take a dip in the
swimming hole – a local favorite - before heading back on
the trail. If you work up an appetite during your trip, stop at Novak’s
Hungarian Restaurant in Albany. The Novak family serves
up some of the best food around in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.
Spend the night in one of many comfortable lodging facilities,
like the Train House Inn, where you’ll
learn a little about local history. The Victorian home was built
to project the social standing of the original occupant Samuel S.
Train, a local political figure, newspaper owner and editor. The
beautiful home welcomes guests with cozy rooms, a pavilion, corner
tower and wrap around porch, as well as some firsthand insight into
days gone by. Start your morning off right - with a cup of
java from Boccherini’s Coffee and Tea House in
Historic Downtown Albany. After breakfast, be sure to stop by the
city’s many antique shops, offering hidden treasures dating
back to when the region was first settled.
