Rejuvenate in the Willamette Valley

Ready for a little rest and rejuvenation after the bustle of December?  Or maybe you are ready to get started pampering yourself for Valentine’s Day with a wellness retreat in the Willamette Valley. The Willamette Valley offers a variety of options for starting - or recommitting to - a healthier you with yoga and massage - or even a little exercise!  Give yourself a little love this season with a visit to one of these welcoming retreats.

The Allison Spa and Resort

If you are looking for an all-in-one option, book a night or two at The Allison Spa and Resort in Newberg. Just a mile off the main thoroughfare in Newberg, but nestled among Oregon vineyards, the Allison Spa and Resort has it all.  The Allison offers over 87 guest rooms, full service restaurant and bar, and a spa that includes yoga classes.

Check in for the weekend, or visit for the day to take advantage of a full range of spa treatments, and yoga options.  Visitors to The Allison’s spa can choose from more than a dozen types of massage.  Or try one of their other treatments inspired by the beautiful atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest, including the Grapeseed Cure body treatment with its grapeskin scrub and the Deep Forest Escape body treatment featuring juniper and pine body oils. While you are there you can also take advantage of the indoor pool and sauna.

Coming with a partner?  The spa package for two offers couples yoga, a spa lunch, and 60 minute joint and muscle rescue massage for two. If you are looking to enhance (or start) your yoga practice, The Allison also has a variety of organized yoga options.  On Winter Wednesdays, a Zen Yoga class is followed by Willamette Valley wine!

Boho Yoga

Further down the valley, in McMinnville, you will find Boho Yoga.  A community yoga studio, BoHo Yoga is dedicated to making yoga accessible to all.  Join a class (Restorative Yoga is offered on Sunday evenings) or schedule a private session.  Spend the night in charming downtown McMinnville, where dining and wine tasting abound. Check their events calendar online for upcoming yoga events.

Breitenbush

Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat and Conference Center offers a full schedule of workshops,  lodging, and meals.  Just east of Salem, Breitenbush is surrounded by the Willamette National Forest. Whether you are looking for a quiet personal retreat, or a guided experience, you’ll find it at Breitenbush.

Visitors to Breitenbush can rejuvenate in the natural hot springs or on forested hiking trails.

In late February, join the Zen Yoga and Meditation Retreat. Or sign up for the Dare to Lead workshop in April.  The monthly Workshop calendar is sure to include options that fit your New Year’s goals, whether yoga, meditation, music, or dance. A full list of workshops offered can be found on their website.

Visitors and workshop attendees enjoy the full suite of amenities at Breitenbush. These include the natural hot spring pools, vegetarian meals, a meditation sanctuary, hiking, massage, and a library for reading or lounging. Reservations are required at Breitenbush. To make Breitenbush a true escape only organic, vegetarian meals are served, cell phone coverage is limited, and electronic/electric devices are discouraged.
