Spring into Corvallis

Becca Barnhart | 03/07/2016 | Corvallis Area, Farm Agritourism, Memorial Day, Outdoors, Spring
It's spring, that means it's time to think about your spring garden, and wine, of course. But there's always time for both! For many in and around the Willamette Valley, Garland Nursery is a must-see destination. This fourth generation family-owned business has been offering the highest quality plants and garden supplies for 79 years. Well-known for showcasing the rare and newest varieties available, they also offer over six acres of trees, shrubs, flowers, house plants, and bonsai as well as a beautiful selection of home décor and gifts. This spring they will also offer a variety of classes, including All about EdiblesSmall Space and Container Gardening and Little Sprouts, a class for our smallest gardeners. Dont miss their anniversary celebration April 22-24, 2016 in conjunction with Earth Day. Another wonderful destination for the green-thumb gardener is The Thyme Garden. Bring mom on May 8- 9, 2016 for their 23rd annual Mothers Day event, Art in the Garden, featuring local artists, food, beer, wine and live music. Also, dust off your market baskets because the Corvallis Farmers Market officially opens their outdoor venue on April 16, 2016. Choose from variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, cut flowers, locally grown nuts, honey, meat, eggs, cheeses, jams and baked goods. Come out and meet the growers and enjoy live music every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 1st and Jackson on the Riverfront in downtown Corvallis. Last but certainly not least, May is Oregon Wine Month. Every year the Heart of Willamette Wineries celebrate Memorial Day weekend with an open house. Its a perfect time to get out, enjoy the beautiful countryside, sip fine wine and meet with winemakers and vineyard owners.
