COVID-19 Resources – CARES Act and SBA Resources

In late March, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act—also known as the CARES Act—was signed into law. The CARES Act is meant to provide economic assistance for workers, families, and small businesses over the coming months.

Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley has created an online hub for Oregon businesses and 501(c)(3) nonprofits impacted by COVID-19. The page includes an FAQ on tax credits, the Paycheck Protection Program, and other forms of financial assistance.

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden has put together a summary of available resources for those impacted by COVID-19. The helpful document includes information on unemployment compensation and insurance, non-cash assistance and relief, small business relief, help with mortgage/rent/utility payments, and more.

Senator Wyden has also posted an FAQ with information exclusively for small business owners. Learn more about grants, loans, tax credits, and other forms of relief to help you through these tough times.

Senator Wyden also offers a thorough FAQ on what kind of relief the CARES Act offers (with extensive information for small businesses beginning on page six).

With such a high demand for assistance from the Small Business Administration (SBA), scammers are using the government agency's name to con small businesses and individuals during the COVID-19 crisis through phone calls, emails, text messages, and letters.
