Grant Program FAQs

To ensure you are equipped to submit a grant application we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions. Please contact us with any additional questions, so we can answer them and add them to this page as a resource for others.

Q: How do I apply for a Willamette Valley Visitors Association grant?

A: The online application is available from September 17, 2018 - November 1, 2018 at 5pm. You must have access to the internet and be able to upload files in order to complete the application. The next WVVA Grant application will open in fall 2019 if funds are available.

Q: Once I start the application, will I be able to save my work and return at another time?

A: No. The form is designed to be completed in one sitting. We have provided all the form questions ahead of time so you can prepare your answers and copy and paste into the form if desired. Don’t forget to have your budget spreadsheet prepared. You will attach the excel document to the form for submission.

Q: Can I view the application questions before I access the actual application?  A: Yes. We encourage you to download the application questions before you begin the application so you can have everything ready to go. Enlisting a proof-reader to review your answers before you complete the application is also highly recommended. Download the application questions here and Required Budget Template.

Q: Does wine need to be featured in my grant project?

A: No, wine does not need to be a feature in a grant project. The Wine+ messaging refers to how the Willamette Valley Visitors Association markets the region. We recognize that wine is the iconic feature most non-oregonians relate to the valley. However, we message with the ‘plus’ message that the Willamette Valley also has outdoor activities, museums, farms etc. to experience. Your business needs to fall into at least one of the plus pillars of outdoors, farms, family, food, culture (or wine).

Q: Can in-kind donations reduce the amount of my cash match?

A: No, the 10% cash match to your ask amount is required. However, in-kind donations may lower the amount you need to ask for which can lower your cash requirement.

Q: Who should I contact if I have additional questions?

A: Reach out to Tori Middelstadt, WVVA Development & Industry Relations Manager 503.881.4442 or tori@oregonwinecountry.org.
