COVID-19 Updates and Travel Alerts

Updates and Alerts on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Oregon

We at the Willamette Valley Visitors Association want every visitor experience in Oregon Wine Country to be the best it can be. We want travelers to stay safe and have the most up-to-date information and resources to make informed decisions when it comes to COVID-19 (or coronavirus).

Here are recommendations, best practices and resources for staying safe—and making the most of your trip to the Willamette Valley.

The Willamette Valley Visitors Association, Travel Oregon and our local partners are committed to ensuring that travelers are provided with accurate, updated information about public health conditions in Oregon. We understand that travelers may be concerned about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it may affect them. According to the Oregon Health Authority, Oregon has 30 confirmed and presumptive cases (as of March 12, 2020).

At this time, Oregon has issued a moratorium on all public gatherings of more than 25 people statewide and closed all restaurants and bars, including wineries and breweries, for four weeks effective immediately. This community mitigation effort is considered the quickest and most effective means of containing COVID-19 transmissions. We urge all travelers to check in with event organizers before traveling and take protective measures against COVID-19.

While the U.S. government has not suggested limiting domestic travel, this is a rapidly evolving situation and we suggest that before booking travel you check the CDC for the latest on travel restrictions and alerts

When it comes to the American public, the CDC is consistent in its precaution to practice common preventative measures to help stop the spread of germs, as is typical in the current flu and respiratory disease season.

U.S. health officials are urging the same personal best practices that are standard for typical flu season:
